2007 Partner Charities

We are fortunate this year to partner with two highly-rated and worthwhile charities. Information on each follows:

For the Wisconsin Run: The Center for Blind & Visually Impaired Children

DONATE NOW Partnering with families, the Center provides services to children under the age of seven who are blind or visually impaired to help them reach their fullest potential.

The Center for Blind and Visually Impaired Children, Inc. offers a coordinated program of educational intervention and prescribed therapies to infants and toddlers who are blind or visually impaired, including those with additional disabilities.

The early intervention services provided are designed to ameliorate the effect of the child's disability. With full participation of the parent/caregiver, services include evaluation for determination of eligibility, child/family assessment, development of an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP), and service delivery.

For parents/caregivers of children who are blind or visually impaired, the news that their child has a vision loss is often devastating. We provide support and education for them so that they are able to contribute to their child's fullest development. We teach parents about the special learning needs of their blind or visually impaired child.

For the Ohio Run: Adventures for Wish Kids

DONATE NOW Adventures for Wish Kids' mission is to enrich the lives of children with life threatening illnesses and their families by providing year round, fun-filled group activities and destination events, fostering joy, laughter, normalcy and supportive networking opportunities. All of our adventures are geared toward the whole family, including the siblings, so no one is excluded.

While children receiving [the] one-time wishes [some other organizations offer] look forward to the day their wish is granted, once the wish is fulfilled, the hope is gone and it's back to the cold, hard realities of fighting their illnesses. In June 1995, a new organization called Adventures For Wish Kids was launched, offering adventures and support programs to children with life threatening illnesses and their families to make certain that hope continues.

Our adventures are unique opportunities to spend quality family time in a fun-filled group activity or destination event outside the hospital. Now, even when our children are sick and in the hospital, they have something to look forward to … the next great adventure!
